I'm Arun Chandran, a wireless, IoT and security engineer based in Los Angeles, and the person behind CYBERTRENDZ. I've spent the last 15 years inside enterprise networks: supporting them, designing them and, lately, orchestrating them with AI.

What I write about

I'm drawn to the invisible layers that keep the world connected, and to what happens when they're pushed, broken and rebuilt. That curiosity runs through three areas:

  • Wireless/IOT: RF is where I started, and it still fascinates me. I write about wireless networks that simply work, from high-density enterprise Wi-Fi to the sensors, gateways and protocols that bring the physical world online, including the house-scale IoT platform I've built at home.
  • CyberSecurity: thinking like an attacker. Probing wireless, network and IoT environments, finding the gaps before someone else does, and turning what I learn into practical hardening.
  • AI: how agentic AI is changing the way we build and run infrastructure, from orchestration and automation to what an engineer's job becomes when intelligence gets cheap.

Expect hands-on notes, lessons from the field and the occasional opinion. Everything else lands in, well, Everything Else.

Off the desk

An electronics and communication engineer at heart. Away from the keyboard, you'll find me hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), out on my motorcycle, chasing roller coasters, or on the ham radio and tinkering in the home lab.

ANDROID LIVE

Want to play with Android but don't have a device ? Here is the Android Live CD. Of course it won't replace a real device for application development but it is a good solution if you are just curious about the operating system. Live CD  image of Google Android has been developed that will enable you to try this new operating system in a virtual machine environment such as VirtualBox, or any other computer that could be booted of a CD or a USB stick(not supported right now). Step 1 – Download the two parts of the Live CD liveandroidv0.3.iso.001   and liveandroidv0.3.iso.002 from the project site. Step 2 – Combine the two segments into a single one using a specialized application ( HJSplit ).
